I found myself in the unusual position of not knowing how to photograph one of the most photographed countries in the world. Not uncertainty about craft, but about whether to pick up the camera at all.
Vietnam offered something I haven't found elsewhere: a sense of found rhythm with its own nature. In every moment I wanted to be present rather than document, because that's how it should be experienced.
The following images are the few times I forgot that tension long enough to press the shutter. Not the whole truth of the place, just the moments where stillness surfaced long enough for me to be in tune with how it wanted to be seen.
